Americanized yoga has developed an enormous range of flavors, from an array of studio settings (hot yoga, vinyasa) to gymnasiums (power yoga, pilate-yoga, weight training yoga) to spiritual settings (ashram retreats, meditation sits, traditional practices). Frequently Buddhist and other traditional influences are adopted into practice, such as mindfulness meditation. Practitioners often journey through many approaches when their personal evolution calls for something more or different than their current practice, or as they explore what approach fits for them.
